Insurance

Why insure your goods

A road accident, a fire or a natural event can damage goods no matter how well they are packed. Transit insurance means you are not left carrying that loss alone.

You declare the value of your goods, and the premium is a small percentage of that value. The exact premium and cover are shared with your quote, before you decide.

Insurance is available with every service, from household shifting and car transportation to storage.

Declared value

How to declare the value of your goods

Your cover depends on the value you declare. A careful list takes an hour and saves a lot of trouble if you ever need to claim.

  1. 01

    Go room by room

List the furniture, appliances, electronics and cartons in each room so nothing is missed.

  2. 02

    Use a realistic current value

Think about what it would cost to replace each item today in similar condition. A realistic value keeps both the premium and any claim fair.

  3. 03

List high-value items on their own

Give electronics, artwork and branded furniture their own line with a value, instead of grouping them into a carton.

  4. 04

    Keep bills and photos

Purchase bills and photos taken before packing make a claim faster and simpler.

  5. 05

    Do not under-declare

If the declared value is lower than the real value, a claim may pay out less than the actual loss.

  6. 06

    Match the inventory

Your declared list should match the inventory our crew prepares, so every item on the truck is covered.

How much does transit insurance cost?

The premium is a small percentage of the value you declare for your goods. We share the exact premium with your quote so you can decide before the move.

Transit insurance covers goods on the road against listed risks such as accidents and fire. Comprehensive cover is broader and can include risks during packing, loading and unloading, as per the policy.

List your items with an approximate current value. High-value items such as electronics, art and furniture should be listed separately, with bills if you have them.

What should I do if something is damaged?

Note the damage on the delivery receipt, take photos and inform us as soon as possible. Our team helps you file the claim with the documents the insurer needs.

Is insurance compulsory?

No, it is optional, but we recommend it for long-distance moves and high-value goods.

When should I take insurance?

Before packing starts. Share the declared value of your goods and we add the premium to your quote.
